Qatargas proudly received the prestigious Crystal Award for Supporting Qatarization during the energy sector's Annual Qatarization Review Meeting, organized by QatarEnergy and held under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs and the President and CEO of QatarEnergy.
The Annual Qatarization Review Meeting was attended by representatives from various energy sector companies in Qatar. This event honours organisations that have consistently demonstrated excellence in any of the four primary categories: Support and Liaison with the Education Sector, Supporting Qatarization, Support for Learning and Development, and Best Qatarization Progress.
Qatargas was bestowed with the prestigious Crystal Award in recognition of the company's outstanding Qatarization programme. Through this initiative, Qatargas has provided numerous development opportunities to the Qatari National workforce. In 2022, the company undertook several noteworthy initiatives to further bolster Qatarization.
Qatargas collaborated extensively with several educational institutions and the Ministry of Labour (MOL) to optimise the recruitment of highly skilled Qatari nationals, solidifying its status as an employer of choice. In acknowledgment of these efforts, Qatar's Ministry of Labour honored Qatargas during its "Employer Recognition" ceremony, commending the company as one of the best supporters of Qatarization.
The establishment of a well-structured outreach programme has also been a priority for Qatargas. Through the "Hayyakum Outreach Programme," the company successfully attracted talented Qatari students from high schools and universities. Additionally, Qatargas forged partnerships with Qatar Foundation and Qatar University to facilitate the recruitment of national candidates.
Qatargas also developed a range of comprehensive Qatarization programmes that align with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, ensuring the proficiency of its workforce. These programmes are designed based on Qatargas' developmental approach, emphasising 70% on-the-job experience and learning, 20% coaching and mentoring, and 10% formal courses and training.
It is noteworthy that Qatargas has been awarded the Crystal Award for the past four consecutive years and received a certificate of recognition in 2018 for Support and Liaison with the Education Sector. The Crystal Award was conferred in 2019 and 2020 for Support for Training and Development, in 2021 for Best Qatarization Progress, and in 2022 for Supporting Qatarization. This accomplishment encompasses all activities undertaken by Qatargas in support of Qatarization, including strategic human resource planning, outreach programmes, resourcing and recruitment, retention, onboarding, recognition programmes, employee support, and wellness initiatives.
